A fully volunteer fire department located in the community of Whynotts Settlement, Nova Scotia, Canada.
We are one of the 4500 volunteer fire departments in Canada. Volunteer’s are there to help our community members through their worst day ever and help diminish what could turn into life threatening and potentially terrible situations.
That’s why we volunteer, to help out when it’s needed the most and to try to make the difference in someone else’s life. We are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Regardless of your qualifications or previous experience, do not be afraid to try us out. If you have a willingness to learn and an interest to support your community, then come try out our practice nights or just see what we do. We pay for any training that will help further your future in the department. There is always a job for everyone in the fire department from interior firefighters, exterior firefighters, safety officers, fundraising workers, auxiliary members, etc.
Bingo takes place three times each week, Mondays & Thursdays at 7pm and Sundays at 1pm. All proceeds are used to support our operations costs.

We respond to a wide range of emergencies, from fires and motor vehicle accidents to medical emergencies and various hazardous situations. Our dedicated team of volunteer firefighters is always ready to act, bringing expertise, courage, and compassion to every call. Serving our community is our highest priority, and we strive to ensure safety and peace of mind in every situation.
Our volunteer fire department is equipped and trained to handle both residential and commercial fires. We understand the devastating impact that fire can have on lives and property, and we respond with speed and precision. Whether it’s a small house fire or a large commercial blaze, our team is dedicated to protecting our community and minimizing damage.
When motor vehicle collisions occur, every second counts. Our team of first responders is trained to manage complex rescue operations, provide critical medical care, and secure the scene. We work closely with EHS and RCMP to ensure the safety of all involved, and to restore order as quickly as possible.
In times of large-scale emergencies, we collaborate with neighboring departments through mutual aid agreements. This cooperative effort allows us to provide additional resources and support when it’s needed most. Together, we strengthen our community’s resilience and ensure that no call for help goes unanswered.
